Title IX Celebrates 50 Years

Kent State is honoring and commemorating the 50th anniversary of Title IX legislation with a year-long celebration, highlighting the success and impact of women's athletics at Kent State University.

Kent State University alumni, students, parents, faculty, staff and the community are encouraged to save the date for one of the university’s long-standing traditions. Kent State will celebrate Homecoming 2021 on Saturday, Oct. 2.

On Saturday, Sept. 21, the Kent State University fight song blared down Main Street, the city of Kent was flooded with blue and gold, alumni and friends gathered and reminisced about their Kent State days, fans packed the stadium to cheer on their beloved Golden Flashes and the entire campus boomed with Kent State pride.

New Kent State University President Todd Diacon will serve as Kent State’s 2019 Homecoming Grand Marshal on Saturday, Sept. 21.

Last year, Kent State University celebrated 100 years of Homecoming. This year, the university starts the next century of Kent State Homecoming celebrations with a new president leading the institution.
