Kent State University School of Art is proud to announce that our M.F.A. program has again been ranked among the top in the country by U.S. News and World Report. Kent State climbed four spots to #110 in 2020 from the 2016 ranking of #114.

Liz Maugans

Liz Maugans (BFA '89) studied printmaking and painting at Kent State University and during this time, she began her community building skills with other artists. After receiving her MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art, she began her trajectory as an artist and an advocate in Cleveland, making it the bustling arts community it is today.

The Kent Creativity Festival, sponsored by the city of Kent and the Kent State University College of the Arts, will present the annual outdoor hands-on arts festival on Saturday, Sept. 28, from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. on the Lefton Esplanade between Kent State’s Rockwell Hall on Lincoln Street and downtown Kent, near Haymaker Parkway.

The new ARTshop is open for business in the Kent State Center for the Visual Arts.

The new ARTshop serves as an entrepreneurial laboratory for School of Art students to display and to learn about promoting their artwork.
