During a 12-month process, Kent State University assessed its physical assets and determined how best to align them to meet the vision, mission, and values of the Strategic Roadmap to a Distinctive Kent State.

A Leadership Committee consisting of previous president Beverly Warren and her top advisors led the campus master plan process.  The Steering Committee, a small group of campus staff and faculty leaders, provided additional review and advise the Leadership Committee.

The project kicked off in January 2017 with a brainstorming meeting with university leadership.  The Board of Trustees reviewed and approved the campus master plan in March 2018.
