Building the Future: MAC Center

one pride. one passion. play as one.

So much of Kent State’s history has revolved around the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center (MACC).

It’s where our Golden Flashes have gathered for nearly 70 years to cheer on Kent State student-athletes and to start their Kent State experience at Freshman Convocation.

It is where our community gathers to hear from world famous lecturers, politicians, musicians and educators. This building — the front porch of the university — is part of the fabric of Kent State, but as with any aging building, there comes the need to renovate. Improved facilities will
increase our athletic program’s reputation, making it easier to recruit more outstanding student-athletes. Once they see what they can be a part of, we will be well on our way to becoming the winningest generation in Golden Flash history.

Improving the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center (MAC Center) will increase our athletic program’s reputation, making it easier to recruit outstanding student-athletes and enabling the Golden Flashes to become the winningest generation in Golden Flash history.
The MAC Center is currently home to six athletic programs:

  • Volleyball
  • Men’s Basketball
  • Women’s Basketball
  • Wrestling
  • Gymnastics
  • Cheerleading

In addition to athletic contests, the MAC Center will continue to host some of the university’s largest and most notable events. A modernized space will elevate each important occasion and showcase our university at a level on par with our reputation.
