Helping Students Open Their Minds and Shape the World

At Kent State University, we open minds, forge new paths and transform the world around us. We do this not alone, but through the purposeful generosity of others.

Gifts to Kent State University help students expand their horizons and become more than they ever imagined. These gifts help our students grow from being students of life into persons of global impact after graduation.

Donors choose exactly where they want their contributions to go. Gifts can enhance buildings, support programs or impact research outcomes. Where donations normally have the biggest impact, however, is on the lives of students and their families.

Each and every gift to Kent State has an impact, no matter the size. With more than 1,100 donor-funded scholarships awarded each year, every donation changes lives. A recent scholarship recipient who moved in with her grandparents after her parents passed away, expressed this impact on her life: "This scholarship has taken so much stress off my grandparents and me. I will strive to represent my donor everyday by being the best student I can be."

And while giving has a tremendous impact on recipients, it has an equally profound impact on donors themselves. As one Kent State supporter said, “If an opportunity arises to make a donation, seize the moment. Be generous, as the joy it brings to others and to you is well worth the investment.”

Together, we help our students open their minds and shape the world. Together, we are a force for the future. Together, we ensure the global impact of Golden Flashes is immeasurable

Read the stories below to learn about the positive impact that giving has on Kent State, our students and our generous donors.
