Advanced Air Mobility
Kent State is shaping the future of flight through the deliberate integration of advanced manufacturing, digital engineering and emerging aviation technologies.
The creation of an air mobility hub and the construction of a new hangar will establish Kent State as a national leader in the field of advanced air mobility and will place the university and Ohio at the center of the fields ongoing development, strengthening the state's role as a powerhouse in aerospace innovation.
An Impactful Investment for the Future
Investment in advanced air mobility (AAM) is an economic catalyst for Ohio, with the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) projecting that the AAM market will yield $13 billion in economic impact by 2045. Kent State's AAM Innovation Hub is expected to contribute over $300 million to Ohio's economy through research, industry partnerships and talent development. The hub is projected to create 1,500 new jobs and launch 15 new companies, acting as a catalyst for entrepreneurship, innovation and regional revitalization as well as supporting the more than 15,000 new jobs that ODOT estimates will be needed in Ohio by 2045.
Additionally, the Kent State will launch an Aircraft Maintenance Technician (A & P) Certificate program to address a critical national workforce shortage.
