Volunteer Position(s) with KSUAA: I am serving as president-elect of the Kent State University Alumni Association National Board of Directors.

Why is volunteering with KSUAA important to you? What motivates you to volunteer?
My husband and I are both graduates from KSU as well as my eldest son. I have always supported Kent State monetarily and I have participated in mentoring students over the years, but wanted to do more. Bottom line, I wanted to give back to the university that gave me so much. I understand the challenges of being a first-generation student without a strong support system. If there is anything that I can do to help make someone else's journey a little easier, I am happy to help.  

Why did you choose to attend Kent State?
In high school, I had the opportunity to visit Kent State to attend a journalism competition. I was so impressed with the school and I just knew that it was the right place for me.

What are your favorite memories at Kent State?
I remember the fun we would have "traying" (aka sledding) on front campus in the winter. The fact there was always something to do, whether it be with the different groups around campus or in downtown Kent, was great as well.
