Dialogue with Ramesh Rajasingham, '85, M.A. '86, United Nations

Please join us for a dialogue with Ramesh Rajasingham, '85, M.A. '86, United Nations Deputy Regional Humanitarian Coordinator, for the Syria Crisis.

Mr. Rajasingham will be sharing about his wide breadth of experiences, having served for over 25 years in the field of humanitarian affairs with the United Nations (UN) and UNICEF.

Mr. Rajasingham is currently responsible for coordinating the Cross-Border Humanitarian Assistance from Turkey for vulnerable populations inside Syria. The operation includes agencies of the United Nations and over 200 of international, Syrian and Turkish NGOs.

He has previously served in crisis countries such as Afghanistan, Bosnia, Herzegovina, Occupied Palestinian Territory and Sudan as well as at the Headquarters of the United Nations (UN). He has worked in conflict and post-conflict countries in coordinated relief programs, as well as programming for durable solutions for internally displaced people. 

Mr. Rajasingham holds a Bachelors of Arts in Economics, and a Masters of Arts in International Development Economics from Kent State University. He is proud to be married to Yasmine and father of Amira and Raoul. 

The Kent State University Alumni Association is honored Ramesh Rajasingham will be speaking to Kent State University students, alumni, the community and is proud to celebrate Mr. Rajasingham as a recipient of the Kent State University Alumni Association Professional Achievement Award. 

The deadline to RSVP is Friday, September 28.

RSVP is required and space is limited. Parking will be available in the Kent State University, Student Center Visitor Parking lot, located off of Summit Street. Bring ticket in to event for validation. GPS address for the visitor parking lot is 1101 Summit Street, Kent, OH 44240. Please check for important construction updates. 

Please note, the new room in the Student Center for this lecture is the 2nd floor, Governance Chambers. We moved to a larger room to accommodate the strong interest in this event.
