Kent State alumna, baseball pioneer and co-founder of the Women’s Professional Baseball League (WPBL) Justine Siegal, M.A. ’00, to serve as its first commissioner. She brings more than two decades of experience and an unrelenting spirit to the league, which plays its first game Aug. 1.
Timken Company Invests in Future of Stark County through Rising Scholars
This summer, The Timken Company welcomed local high school seniors to their corporate headquarters in North Canton, Ohio, as part of the Kent State University at Stark Rising Scholars Summer Institute. The Rising Scholars Program combines mentoring with assistance from local communities and businesses to prepare promising youth for life after high school in hopes they will reinvest their talents in their community.

Ian Holt, ’18, isn't trying to look too far ahead, even as everything in his career suggests he's on the verge of the next big step. Long before Ian Holt, ’18 was competing for a spot on golf's biggest stage, he was a local kid growing up just a few miles from Kent State's nationally recognized golf program. The lessons he learned at Kent State continue to influence Holt's professional career today.
