Update Regarding Spring Break
UPDATED 10/2/20: This updated posting reflects the correct dates for spring classes and for spring semester registration
Dear Kent State University Students, Faculty and Staff,
While we have focused on keeping everyone healthy and safe this fall semester, we are also actively planning COVID-19 mitigation strategies for spring semester. As part of our overall strategy to reduce risk and keep everyone safe, we are making an adjustment to our spring 2021 academic calendar.
Spring break for spring 2021 has been moved from March 29-April 4, 2021, to April 12-18, 2021. After spring break, classes will continue remotely through the last day of instruction on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, and through final examinations, May 6-12, 2021. On May 4, there will be no classes between 12-2 p.m., a university tradition to remember May 4, 1970. This change is being made in an effort to reduce transmission of COVID-19 because of excessive spring travel.
Details about residence halls and dining plans for spring 2021 will be forthcoming shortly.
The spring semester course schedule will be available Oct. 5, 2020, and will include a mixture of remote and in-person courses. Registration for spring semester will begin on Oct. 26, 2020, for graduate students and Oct. 27, 2020, for undergraduate students. You can find your time to register via the Office of the University Registrar’s website.
As a reminder, it is imperative that everyone continues to follow the Flashes Safe Seven on and off campus, wear a face covering at all times and limit in-person contact with others. We need everyone’s help to stay the course and do what’s right to keep all Flashes safe. Remember, students must avoid all gatherings and parties and must limit interactions other than attending class and participating in physical exercise.
Thank you for your flexibility and for adhering to all of the important COVID-19 guidelines that help keep our campus community healthy. Flashes Unite – Do What’s Right!
