Flashes Take Care of Flashes Welcome Kit

All students taking face-to-face classes or working or visiting a Kent State University campus will receive a Flashes Take Care of Flashes Welcome Kit that provides all of the safety essentials.

Kit Content 

  • Flashes Safe Seven postcard
  • KSU Student Pledge card
  • Two washable face coverings
  • Forehead thermometer strips
  • Antibacterial hand sanitizer gel
  • Sanitizing wipes
  • A clean key
  • Drawstring bag

Ashtabula

East Liverpool

  • Aug.17 and beyond: Purinton Hall's front reception desk: Available for student pick up
  • Aug. 21, 9-11 a.m.: Kits will be given to incoming freshmen students at the drive-thru DKS  

Geauga

Kent Campus 

*Students living in the residence halls will receive a kit in their room at move-in. Others should be aware of these options:

  • Aug. 27 and 28, 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
    • Risman Plaza tents (rain location: Kent Student Center Kiva)
    • Cartwright Hall tent (rain location: University Auditorium in Cartwright Hall)
  • Aug. 29, 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
    • Risman Plaza tents (rain location: Kent Student Center Kiva)
  • Aug. 31 and beyond, Monday - Friday from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
    • Office of University Events and Protocol – Room 217-E, Schwartz Center
    • Kent Student Center Information Desk (located on the first floor)

Podiatric Medicine, College of

  • Kits will be distributed to students in each class year based upon their specific course schedule. Distribution dates and times will be communicated directly to students  prior to the beginning of the academic year. 

Salem

  • Aug. 17 and beyond: Students can pick up the kits at the front reception desk 
  • Aug. 20, 2-4 p.m.: Kits will be given to incoming freshmen students at the drive-thru DKS 

Stark

  • Aug. 20, 3–6 p.m. ,and Friday, Aug. 21, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m: Current students will be able to pick up their welcome kits on Thursday, . More details will be coming soon.
  • Aug. 21, noon to 3 p.m.: Flashes Take Care of Flashes Welcome Kits will be given to new students at Flash’s Drive-In 
    • A RSVP link for the event will be sent via email to all new students

Trumbull

  • Aug. 25, 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.: Students can pick up their kits  in the parking lot in front of Student Services. To sign in "hands-free," students are encouraged to download the Kent State Trumbull app from the Apple Store or Google Play.

Tuscarawas

  • Please monitor your @kent.edu email for details about how to pick up your welcome kits during the first two weeks of classes. Information about days and distribution times  will be communicated in that way.
