Prior to the start of the current academic year, we shared a communication about ways the university is balancing its Fiscal Year 2018 budget, including several cost-saving strategies. One such program is the Comprehensive Office Print Initiative, or COPI for short. The purpose of this initiative is to assess office copier/printer practices across all Kent State campuses and identify potential efficiencies by modifying current equipment and printing practices.
Over the last few months, University Dining Services has been reviewing customer feedback from on-campus dining locations and making enhancements. Here are a few examples:

Kent State University Libraries will once again offer its Stress-Free Zone to all students, faculty and staff on Monday, Dec. 11, and Tuesday, Dec. 12, from 3-5 p.m. in the Garden Room at the University Library.
The Kent State University Alumni Association invites faculty and staff to nominate deserving alumni for the Kent State University Alumni Awards. Sponsored by the alumni association, the Alumni Awards recognize graduates in the area of leadership, service, character and professional development.
One student award – the Golden Flash award – also will be given to a student who promotes Kent State spirit, pride and tradition.
The holidays can bring sweet memories of family traditions and wish lists miles long, but the season is also a time when people reflect on what they have and what they can give to others. Kent State University just wrapped up its monthlong Giving Tuesday initiative, but that does not mean the giving season is over; it has only just begun.
You can give back in various ways this holiday season by gifting your time, money or items to those in need. Several campus and local organizations offer opportunities for you to give this holiday season.

The Kent State University Bookstore hours for Dec. 22 will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Kent State University’s Giving Tuesday 2017 doubled the 2016 campaign – hitting more than $1 million just before midnight on Tuesday, Nov. 28. The single largest gift of the day was a $100,000 donation to the Fashion School Study Away Fund. From multiple student education abroad scholarships to research opportunities and poetry programs, there were more than 40 featured giving options across the Kent State system from which to choose.
