Costs At-A-Glance

Will you be taking classes, living and eating on campus? Or maybe commuting and eating at home? We know it isn’t one size fits all! Our students tackle their college careers differently and you may just need rates for certain aspects of the university experience. Tuition, Dining & Housing - Undergraduate

These numbers are intended to serve as a guide when evaluating Kent State's value and affordability.

The 2022 cohort prices per YEAR:

  • Undergraduate Ohio resident tuition:  $12,464  | Non-Ohio resident tuition:  $21,570
  • Housing for a double room: $7,780
  • Dining Services blue meal plan: $4,896

Housing

Residence Services is committed to helping you find the living and learning environment that will feel like “home” while you’re on campus.

The 2022 cohort semester rate for a double standard room is: $3,890. This rate also applies to non-cohort students for the 2022-2023 academic year.

Dining

While the university offers a variety of meal plans, the Kent State Blue plan falls within the middle tier and provides a good number for estimating costs.

The 2022 cohort price is: $2,448 each semester.

Please note: a full-time graduate student is one who is registered for 8 to 16 hours in any one semester, with 16 hours being the maximum number that may be carried per semester.  For more information on the graduate enrollment definition please review section 3.4 on the Graduate Studies website.

International Tuition and Fees

Kent State offers a highly favorable match between the cost and quality of a college degree.

We offer more than 360 programs at the undergraduate, master’s and PhD levels. There are a variety of merit-based scholarships for eligible first-year international students. When combined, available scholarships have the potential of awarding an international student up to $32,000 towards a four-year undergraduate degree.

For issuing I-20's, additional proof of finances must also be provided for dependents as follows:

  • $4,500 for spouse or other first dependent
  • $2,500 for each additional dependent

Kent State University requires all international students to purchase the sponsored student health insurance plan. Under certain criteria, a student may request a waiver of this charge.

  1. Log on to FlashLine and select Student from the main menu.
  2. Under Finances, click on Financial Aid.
  3. Click on Financial Aid Awards, select the current aid year from the drop-down menu and Submit.
