Hamid Estejab is a master’s student in the Healthcare Design Program in the College of Architecture and Environmental Design. Hamid possesses an admirable growth mindset and has demonstrated tenacity towards his ambition. His research interests are in evaluating wayfinding in emergency departments and augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) simulations.
Some of Hamid’s individual accomplishments include receiving second place in the Three-Minute Thesis competition and receiving the Graduate Student Senate Research Award. As part of a team he received the PDC conference acceptance and the Healthcare Environment Award in the conceptual category where he greatly contributed. Hamid is also a Healthcare Design Student Charrette.
His career goals are to contribute to the Healthcare Design of the Architecture industry and work in the intersection of healthcare design and technology where designers propose ideas for future challenges.
After completing his program, he wants to gain experience by working in an Architectural firm with a focus on healthcare, providing him with the opportunity to increase his knowledge and grow his network in the field.
When asked what he likes the most about Kent State, Hamid states that he enjoys the friendly atmosphere at Kent State University, he likes the architecture building, where he studies, and he thinks it is important for architecture students to start or continue their education in a well-designed environment. When Hamid is not engaged in schoolwork he enjoys hanging out with friends, playing video games, badminton, and tennis.
