Sheila Fleming, Ph.D.

Dr. Fleming is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Northeast Ohio Medical University and Co-Director of the UH-NEOMED Neurodegenerative Disease and Aging Research Center. Her research focuses on understanding the pathological mechanisms driving motor and non-motor symptoms and neuronal dysfunction in Parkinson’s disease. She uses a strong behavioral neuroscience approach to identify circuits underlying a wide range of behavioral dysfunction and to test novel therapeutic strategies. Dr. Fleming’s research has been supported by funding from National Institutes of Health, Department of Defense, and the Michael J Fox Foundation.
