NDEP

Our dedicated faculty and local teaching professionals meet with our future teachers once per month to provide them with the additional support they need to be successful in our teaching education programs.  The network provides future teachers a wealth of support building connections and providing an in-depth focus on advanced study preparation. 

One of the Office of Diversity Outreach and Development's new initiatives, that is in conjunction with the Kent State Child Development Center is the Early To Rise program.  The goals of the Early to Rise program is to enrich the pathway to early childhood education teacher certification for students of color through structured, field-based engagements prior to admission into advanced study.  Focused, high-quality learning experiences during their Freshman and Sophomore year will allow students to be better prepared to enter advanced study, ultimately increasing the retention of students and their overall achievement within the Early Childhood Education program.
