ADVISORY: Special Kent State University Board of Trustees Meeting, July 27

The Kent State University Board of Trustees will hold a special meeting Friday, July 27, to consider the report of a fact-finder appointed by the State Employment Relations Board (SERB) to make recommendations regarding all unresolved issues between the university and the Kent State University Employees Local 153, American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), in their negotiations to reach a collective-bargaining agreement. In accordance with state law, the union membership and the Board of Trustees each have seven days from the report issuance date to act on the report.

The Board will convene at 10 a.m. in the George Urban Board of Trustees Conference Room, which is located on the second floor of University Library.

No committee meetings will be held, and the Board will retire into executive session during the meeting to consider specific topics as provided for under Ohio’s “Sunshine Law.” No other items are on the agenda.

The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Board is Wednesday, Sept. 12.
