Board Approves Crawford Hall Spaces

Designated spaces in the new Crawford Hall building to be constructed on the Kent State campus to house the Ambassador Crawford College of Business and Entrepreneurship have been approved by the Board of Trustees. The new Crawford Hall will support innovative instruction, leading research and student support services for thousands of business majors, minors and others taking business courses across the Kent State system.  

The 24 spaces represent $10.7 million in philanthropic gifts received for the new building and include the following areas:

  • Robert M. and Janet L. Archer Kent Water Sports Trading Lab
  • Robert M. and Janet L. Archer Kent Water Sports Business Analytics Lab
  • John S. Brinzo Center for Entrepreneurship and Business Innovation
  • John S. Brinzo Entrepreneurship Laboratory 
  • James R. Unger Global Forum
  • Matthew E. and Nancy S. Likens Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship Suite 
  • Medical Mutual Community Welcome Court 
  • Walter G. and Judy A. Van Benthuysen Collaboration Staircase 
  • Arthur and Susan Karas Behavioral Research Hub
  • Timothy D. Eippert Boardroom
  • SEI Investments Team Area 
  • Robert D. Hisrich Faculty and Staff Lounge 
  • Angelo and Joyce Kinicki Classroom
  • Katy Dix Brahler Conference Room
  • Barry E. and Jo Ann Fetterman Stock Ticker
  • R. Louis Schneeberger Student Success Reception Area

University President Todd Diacon also approved the following named spaces for gifts made that are less than $100,000:

  • William McKean and Mary Ann Williams Dean’s Office
  • Stephen M. Hawley Team Area
  • S. Bruce and Eleanor W. Heister Finance Chair Office
  • The Polatajko Family Focus Group and Observation Rooms
  • Salvatore and Carmela Volpe Collaboration Space
  • Lt. Colonel Kevin W. Blanchard Office
  • Ken and Kathy Haber Team Area
  • Nicholas and Cathleen Square Team Area

Tese naming actions represent more than $10.7 million given in support of the Ambassador Crawford College of Business and Entrepreneurship and Crawford Hall. Groundbreaking on the new building is expected to take place in spring 2022.
