Sherylynn Chapman-Thomas

I am a native of Akron Ohio where I reside with my husband and two adult children. I am a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and a 20-year educator in higher education.  

Position

In my role, I strive to offer access and opportunities through campus programming and visit experiences to students in our pipeline (Akron, Public Schools, Cleveland Metropolitan School District, Kent State’s First Star Academy/ Purple Umbrella, LeBron James Family Foundation, and Trio Upward Bound Programs). These experiences aid in providing exposure to our pipeline students and offers unlimited possibilities for post-secondary enrollment and beyond. 

Experience

I have worked in both private and public universities in Ohio for over 20 years. I have created programming ranging from recruitment, retention, and diversity to access and exposure. I work with youth from fourth grade to new freshman in college and seek to build relationships and connections with youth and provide them with resources to enhance their personal success.
