Biography

Beau Shaniuk (he/him) graduated from Ohio University with a BA in Women's, Gender, & Sexuality Studies in 2019, and with an MA in Law, Justice, & Culture in 2022. As a graduate student, Beau's primary interests lie in gender and sexualities, queer identities, legal sociology and sociolegal mobilization, inequalities, and social psychology. Beau intends to develop future research examining the factors that mediate experiences with internalized transphobia and cisgenderism in gender diverse communities.

Outside of the academic setting, Beau enjoys writing and producing music, cooking, meditating, doing yoga, and spending time with his partner and dog. 

Beau Shaniuk (he/him) graduated from Ohio University both in 2019 with a BA in Women's, Gender, & Sexuality Studies, and in 2022 with an MA in Law, Justice, & Culture. As a graduate student, Beau's primary interests lie in gender and sexualities, queer identities, sociolegal mobilization, inequalities, and social psychology. Beau intends to develop future research examining resocialization processes in gender diverse folx and hypermasculinity in transgender men. 

Outside of academia, Beau enjoys playing piano and guitar, singing, doing yoga, and spending time with his partner and dog.
