About Me
I’m a west Michigan native and I spent the last decade outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I’m happy to officially be back to my Midwestern roots living here in northeast Ohio. I studied Marketing and Spanish during my undergrad at Grove City College and earned my MA in Higher Education from Geneva College. I spent a semester abroad in Costa Rica during college and had the most transformative experience of my life living in a new culture and studying another language. I knew as soon as my time abroad ended that I wanted to work in a field where I could encourage students to have similar experiences during their time in college.
What I Love About Kent State
The opportunities for Education Abroad that Kent State offers are incredibly diverse. I greatly appreciate the ability to advise students to explore the vast number of program options, finding one that fits the personal and academic goals of each individual student. It's also really inspiring to work for a university that supports internationalization for all students, both domestic and international.
Fun Facts
My favorite place I’ve traveled to so far has been Cuba. On top of my scheduled time there, a cancelled flight resulted in an extra three days to explore Havana and stay in a five-star hotel, all on the airline’s dime! I also spent a summer during graduate school living in Lithuania working at a North American style university with international students from all over Central and Eastern Europe.
