KSU Navigate is a new platform from Kent State designed to empower students to achieve their personal academic success.

Partnering with higher-education leader EAB, Kent State is utilizing their Navigate 360 academic success platform and customizing it for their students under the name KSU Navigate. KSU Navigate helps students get the advising and tutoring support they need, when they need it most.

For the remainder of the Spring ‘24 semester, a pilot group of Kent State students from the following campus locations will participate in the pilot:

  • Ashtabula Campus
  • Geauga Campus
  • Trumbull Campus
  • Tuscarawas Campus
  • Twinsburg Academic Center

During this pilot, the students at these campus locations can find and schedule academic success appointments for tutoring, supplemental instruction, writing support and academic coaching only. Advising support will be rolled out later in the year.

KSU Navigate is available to students and staff via browser or the app store (Android and iOS).

Who can use KSU Navigate?

KSU Navigate will launch as a PILOT in the Spring of 2024. For this initial launch. It will JUST include tutoring, supplemental instruction, and academic coaching for the following campuses:

  • Ashtabula Campus
  • Geauga Campus
  • Trumbull Campus
  • Tuscarawas Campus
  • Twinsburg Academic Center

Please note: KSU Navigate will replace the process used at your campus for tutoring, supplemental instruction, academic coaching and writing support.

When will my campus location be included?

Before we do an all campus roll out for advising and tutoring, we want to make sure KSU Navigate has been tried and tested to give you the best experience possible. This is why we are just piloting tutoring at a few locations in the spring. We will get feedback from our pilot groups, make further adjustments to improve the experience, and then plan on doing a university wide roll out later in 2024.

KSU Navigate Implementation Timeline

Through the work of the re-imagining of academic advising which involved soliciting the feedback of students and process evaluation exercises with advisors and advising administrators, along with the efforts of the Supporting the Student Experience Review Team, it became evident that we needed a system that better supported the evolving needs of our students.

A holistic picture of our students will enhance the student experience in ways our current system is not able to do, providing the most pertinent information about the student and allowing advisors to assist the student in the best way possible. It is vital for advisors to have access to student information from other offices/departments that may impact the interactions they have in the advising experience.

We want to ensure advisors have the full picture when providing advice to their students to help them make informed decisions.  We also want a system that provides students with the tools that they are looking for in a technology system, so they are having their needs met and are engaged in their advising experience.
