Alumni in the News: Chris Cugini, MPH ‘20

Cugini currently serves as communications strategist for CommunicateHealth, Inc. where he assists in the dissemination plans for health communication projects for agencies like the CDC and the Department of Health and Human Services' Office of the Secretary. He also serves as adjunct faculty at Aultman College where he teaches classes on Population Health. Cugini has been recently honored with the 40 Under 40 Public Health Catalyst Award by the Boston Congress of Public Health, which recognizes “the next generation of leaders who inspire a more just and equitable world”. He also was appointed to their board of directors for a three year term. Cugini was also awarded the Vision Award for Excellence in Health Policy by the Community Health Planning and Policy Development Section of the American Public Health Association. The award was given for his work on the Save Stark and Dear Stark Women campaigns during his time with the Stark County Health Department. Prior to joining CommunicateHealth,Inc., Cugini worked as communications specialist for the Stark County Health Department, as a communication strategist for the Veterans Benefits Administration and as the community manager for the Society of Health Communication. Cugini graduated with his Master’s in Public Health from Kent State University in 2020.
