More students who want to be nurses will soon be able to pursue that dream. Kent State University's College of Nursing is launching a new pathway that will allow students without high school mathematics, chemistry or biology courses to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.

  • Taylor Cogdeill of Stow, Ohio, opens up about a familiar and emotional experience: the bittersweet in-between of almost graduating—eager to start the next chapter but not quite ready to let go of the transformative college experience she's leaving behind.

  • Delonte Goodman is a graduate student in Kent State's College of Aeronautics and Engineering. He will complete his master's program in mechatronics in December, before moving on to his doctoral program in the spring semester. He is active in multiple student and professional organizations at Kent State that enhance and complement his studies and also allow him to assist and mentor undergraduate students.

  • As part of Kent State’s ongoing 2025-26 Thomas Schroth Visiting Artist Series, the university hosted seven-time Grammy nominee Bobby Sanabria as a guest artist. He led master classes, rehearsals and lectures focused on music, business and social change.

  • Kent State University’s School of Theatre and Dance, Wick Poetry Center and Brain Health Research Institute joined forces for an Oct. 1 dance performance that set poetry to motion.

  • When students enroll in Kent State University’s documentary filmmaking course, they expect guidance, instruction and the tools needed to create their own documentaries. What they don’t expect is to have their work featured on local television, a rare opportunity that elevates classroom learning to a professional exhibition.

  • Kent State scored on its first possession in overtime to defeat Akron 42-35. It's the Golden Flashes' first win in the rivalry since 2022 and allows Kent State to regain control of the coveted wagon wheel.

  • Kent State Vice President and Director of Athletics Randale L. Richmond announced today that Mark Carney has been named the 24th head football coach of the Golden Flashes, removing the interim tag he has held since April 2025.

  • Kent State University's Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center is marking its 75th anniversary this fall, celebrating more than seven decades as the heart of campus life where students begin and end their academic journeys.
