Generous donors have made it possible for Kent State to increase its presence at the upcoming Air Race Classic as student pilots go for a third national win in a row.

Fork in the Road Food Truck

Kent State's Fork in the Road food truck will be on Risman Plaza each Wednesday from June 12 - August 7, except next week, when it will instead be part of the university's Juneteenth Jubilee on Tuesday.

  • In 2020, Kent State University President Todd Diacon announced to a group of high school juniors and their families that Kent State would cover four years of tuition costs and one year of room and board. Now, for the LeBron James Family Foundation’s first I PROMISE class, the hard work these students had put in since third grade is paying off. 

  • Kent State University's Center for Student Involvement has more than 350 clubs and organizations for students. Dedicated to providing a great experience for all students, the center provides leadership development opportunities that foster student engagement.  

  • Birds flew overhead, black squirrels darted around and a cool, calm breeze swept across Risman Plaza on April 22 as dozens of organizations assembled their tables for Earth Fest, an interactive Earth Day event.

Research

  • Kent State Ph.D. candidates Beau Shaniuk and Dana Oleskiewicz provide a historical context for the transgender experience and discuss the challenges the community faces in light of the increasing number of anti-trans bills being introduced across the country.

  • The environment is something that many people take for granted. But it affects us all. Some recent Kent State University students spent the semester putting environmental issues front and center.

  • Every spring and fall millions of birds migrate through Northeast Ohio on their way to or from their breeding grounds. With their song and bright colors, birds help brighten our campus after a long winter.

  • All eyes have been on Northeast Ohio the past several weeks as the Kent State University and The University of Akron’s men’s and women’s basketball teams battled it out for the MAC championship title. It wasn’t always such a bitter rivalry between these two Northeast Ohio legends, however. Just look at this old footage we found of Flash and Zippy bonding back in the day.

  • The Kent State women’s basketball team will play in the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2002. Champions do so much on their own, just look at the stats. But this championship team is supported by its members, its coaches and the Kent State Community.

  • The Golden Flashes have made it to the NCAA tournament during a moment when women’s basketball is in the prime spotlight.
