Basic Algebra Sequence

ALEKS® Software Information and Links

Assessment and Learning in Knowledge Spaces (ALEKS®) is a Web-based, artificially intelligent assessment and learning system.  ALEKS® uses adaptive questioning to quickly and accurately determine exactly what a student knows and doesn't know in a course, then instructs the student on the topics they are most ready to learn.  As a student works through a course, ALEKS® periodically reassesses the student to ensure that topics are also retained.

The Basic Algebra courses will be taught using the software ALEKS®.  Academic Advisers will be working with students to place them in the correct Basic Algebra course. It is possible for students to accelerate through the Basic Algebra sequence by completing the courses early and then following the change of section process.  This process starts with printing the Math Emporium Course Section Change Form and going to see your current Basic Algebra instructor.  The instructor should fill out the top of the form and bring the signed form to the Department of Mathematical Science located in MSB 233.
