Kent State Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) is pleased to announce two opportunities to receive the 10-hour OSHA certification this summer. Registration is now open for two sessions of the OSHA 10-hour general industry course. Students present at the Honors Week Poster Session

Join us the evening of Monday, April 10th as we kick off our departmental Honors Week with the 9th annual Honors Week Poster Session! The event begins at 5:30pm in the Integrated Sciences Building, and will include undergraduate and graduate student posters featuring chemistry and chemistry-related research. Various departments throughout Kent State University, as well as area institutions, will be represented. Presenters have the chance to win a $200 prize for best poster! Celebrate Honors Week with the Department, as we host our annual Celebration of Student Achievement! The event is scheduled for Thursday, April 13, and includes a plenary lecture by Dr. Peng Chen (Cornell University) at 2:30pm in the KIVA, and our awards and scholarship recognition at 4:15pm in the Integrated Sciences Building. Refreshments will be provided at both portions of the event.

CAE Partners with Admissions on 2023 Future Flash Days

The College of Aeronautics and Engineering recently wrapped up their slate of Future Flash Days as part of the recruitment process for the next class of CAE students. The Kent State University Admissions Office hosts multiple Future Flash Days throughout February and March to get students excited about their upcoming college careers. CAE Spring Career Fair 2023

On Wednesday, March 15th, the College of Aeronautics and Engineering hosted their biggest Career Fair to date. Over 40 companies attended, talking to students about possible career opportunities and internships. The fair, which is held each semester, featured companies from both the engineering and aeronautics sectors to cater to all College of Aeronautics and Engineering students and alumni. Air Race Classic

The Flying Flashes are once again taking on the Air Race Classic! After the success of last year’s team, Laura Wilson and Peyton Turner will be teaming up to fly in the annual competition of female pilots spanning nearly 2,400 miles. This year is the 46th year of the competition, bringing together pilots of all ages and diverse backgrounds to compete against other passionate pilots for first place. Julia DiNunzio, a junior Aeronautical Systems Major at Kent State University, enjoys staying involved with her campus and community despite her academically rigorous major. Originally from Buffalo, New York, DiNunzio also enjoys exploring her creative side through her Photojournalism minor and photography work with the Kent State University Athletic Department. Cooper Flora, a sophomore Aerospace Engineering major, serves as a great role model for students in his degree program and beyond.
