Mission Statement
The mission of the Department of Computer Science at Kent State University is to prepare its graduate students for discovery, dissemination, and application of computer science knowledge using various combinations of graduate-level courses, industrial internship and original academic research to serve the industry and/or academics, and contribute to the greater good of the society. The graduate programs keep evolving to accommodate emerging societal needs and foci in the academics and the industry.
The American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) is a professional organization for design. AIGA Kent State, the student group, has a long history with the School of Visual Communication. But during the COVID pandemic and remote classes era, the group dwindled and lay dormant. 2024 Flashes Give Back Week
Since 2009, Golden Flashes have come together to volunteer for our blue and gold communities around the world. What was once a day of service is now a weeklong initiative, offering more than 50 opportunities to serve together, united in our mission of making our communities better and brighter, while inspiring others to do the same. This spring, serve, unite and inspire your community and our university. From April 15-20, join us for our biggest volunteer initiative of the year!

- CREATE AN ACCOUNT/FSA ID
- Students filing the FAFSA for the first time need to create an account, an FSA ID.
- One or more parents may need an FSA ID as well, depending on dependency and tax filing status.
- For verification purposes, create your FSA ID at least 3 business days prior to submitting FAFSA

KENT, OHIO – The Kent State University Museum is honored to host the first museum exhibition in the United States dedicated to the work of the brand Sukeina founded by Omar Salam. Kent State University students, faculty and staff discussed the words and ideas of Martin Luther King Jr. during the 100 Plates – Peace and Conflict: MLK to Today event held Jan. 31, 2024.
