Talk with your school counselor about what’s next after high school

Your school counselor can answer questions you have about going to college and what you need to do to prepare, like which classes to take. 

Let your loved ones know about your college plans

Tell your family or loved ones about your potential college and career plans and why it’s important to you. 

Pay attention to what interests you

Your classes and extracurricular activities can help you decide what to study in college.  

Start your scholarship search

Create a resume that highlights extracurricular activities and academic achievements to make applying for scholarships easier. 

Look into earning college credit while in high school

Talk to your school counselor about options for Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), dual-enrollment or College Credit Plus (CCP) programs. In Ohio, you can also earn college credit by completing a career-technical education program.
