Your Junior Year Checklist

Start visiting colleges

You can visit Kent State by scheduling a campus tour or attending our biggest on-campus visit day, Preview KSU! If you can't make it to campus, you can always take a virtual tour.

Meet with your school counselor

Your school counselor will ensure you are on track to meet all high school graduation requirements and college-preparation goals.

Discover ways to earn college credit and get a head start toward your degree

Talk to your school counselor about Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), dual-enrollment or College Credit Plus (CCP) classes. In Ohio, you can also earn college credit by completing a career-technical education program.

Learn about college costs and financial aid

Kent State works hard to make college affordable with scholarships and many types of financial aid. See what options are available for you by visiting our webpage.

Speak with your KSU admissions counselor

You have a designated personal admissions counselor assigned to you based on your region and high school, and they are eager to answer any questions about Kent State that you may have!

Explore the Kent State Honors College

Renowned and historic, the Kent State University Honors College offers students unique benefits and endless academic opportunities. Honors programs are also available at the Stark Campus and Trumbull Campus.

Schedule standardized test dates

All Kent State campuses are test-optional. You are welcome to send your scores using these codes:

  • ACT (3284)

  • SAT (1367)
