Admissions Updates – November 2021

Greetings from Kent State University! I hope the fall semester has gone well for you and your school community. As we prepare for finals week and winter break, I am thrilled to share some recent announcements from Kent State. It truly is an exciting to time to be a Golden Flash.

  • College of Aeronautics and Engineering Building Expansion. As the fastest-growing college at Kent State University, we are proud to announce an expansion to the Aeronautics and Engineering building. This new facility will accommodate increased enrollment while providing state-of-the-art teaching, research laboratories and collaborative spaces. While Kent State has grown to be known for programs in aeronautics, professional pilot and unmanned aircraft systems, we also offer in-demand engineering programs in aerospace, cybersecurity and mechatronics. For more information about how this new facility will support student achievement, visit: https://www.kent.edu/kent/news/success/kent-state-build-expansion-its-aeronautics-and-engineering-building.

  • Largest Single Gift in Kent State History. In October, Kent State was the proud recipient of the largest single gift in university history from Ambassador Edward F. Crawford. As part of the gift, the College of Business and Entrepreneurship will occupy a new state-of-the-art facility on the Kent campus. Crawford Hall will support innovative instruction, research and student support services for thousands of business majors, minors and others taking business courses across the Kent State system. This project will create a new signature gateway entrance to the Kent Campus that features Crawford Hall, the new home for the Ambassador Crawford College of Business and Entrepreneurship.

  • Kent State University’s Brain Health Research Institute celebrated the grand opening of its new lab spaces in November with an afternoon of activities that included a keynote presentation, space dedication, tours and student research demonstrations. The new space, featuring interdisciplinary research facilities, is located on the lower level of the Integrated Sciences Building on the Kent Campus. Students from all disciplines will benefit from the Institute’s new “Collaboratories,” where interdisciplinary researchers focus their research on unresolved questions about the brain and brain diseases. For more information, visit www.kent.edu/brainhealth.

These are a few examples of great things happening at Kent State. I hope you have a wonderful close to the fall term, and I wish you a safe and joyous holiday season.

Take care and Go Flashes!
