Why They Chose Kent State

Representing all 50 states and 100+ countries, Kent State University attracts students from all over the world. And we're getting excited to welcome you and your student to our campus this fall!

As of early March, 2,400+ incoming students have made the Blue and Gold Commitment by paying their $150 enrollment fee. Here are a few of our newest members of the Class of 2025 to tell you a little bit about themselves and why they chose to attend Kent State.

Complicated by Mac Miller Why did you choose Kent State? I chose Kent state because it is not far from home, everyone seems very welcoming, and it has many world-class majors and minors that I can choose from. What excites you most about attending Kent State?  The thing that excites me most about attending Kent State is the chance to meet new people and to make many friends for a lifetime.

What's one thing you want your classmates to know? I love taking timer pictures and I’ll take them anywhere and anytime. Why did you choose Kent State? The program I am in is internationally ranked and I love the college town feel of it. It also is affordable and has so many clubs and activities that I can participate in. What excites you most about attending Kent State?  I'm most excited about meeting new people and learning more about my major.

Saint Jhn, WizKid, Blue Ivy What's one fun fact about you? I literally love shopping. Clothes, shoes, all of that is something I enjoy Why did you choose Kent State? I chose Kent State for many reasons, one being Kent State's nursing program. Due to this and the various other great things Kent has going for them, my decision was made quite easy. What excites you most about attending Kent State? What excites me most about attending Kent State is that I will be taking that one step closer to working my dream job.

My decorating skills on Animal Crossing: New Horizons What's one thing you want your classmates to know about you? I'm always down for a spontaneous dance party! Why did you choose Kent State? I chose Kent State because the campus felt like home from the first visit. Kent is the perfect size for me. Big enough to get involved in many student organizations, small enough to make an impact in the community and get to know my professors, advisors, peers, and neighbors. Getting to live in a college town with the benefits of a big city nearby drew me in! What excites you most about attending Kent State? Kent State excites me for what the future holds both during college and after. Connections I make with peers and alumni that will benefit me in my future career, making lifelong friends, and continuing my education.
