Biography

Dr. Carolina Schuchovski is an Assistant Professor (NTT) in the Department of Biological Sciences at Kent State University, where she brings her passion for plant and soil science, biodiversity conservation, ecology, and sustainability into both her teaching and research.

She holds a Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Agronomy (Plant Production) from the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR) in Brazil, and part of her doctoral research was conducted at Ohio State University. Her Ph.D. focused on plant tissue culture, developing protocols for blueberry organogenesis and micropropagation, as well as studying floral bud dormancy in blueberries. Additionally, she conducted research on the morphology and anatomy of rubber dandelion flowers and inflorescences, along with blueberry in vitro organogenesis.

Before joining Kent State, Dr. Schuchovski taught at Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná (PUCPR) and the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR) in Brazil, where she had the opportunity to teach and supervise student research projects in a variety of courses in plant science, soil science, and ecology.
