Get Tested for COVID-19

Dear Kent State University Students,

We are asking for your help to ensure that our spring semester remains a safe and healthy one.

Whether you are vaccinated or not, we encourage you to get tested for COVID-19 to learn your health status before heading back to class.

Testing is available today, Friday, Jan. 14, until 3 p.m. and Monday, Jan. 17, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Eastway Center Lounge. This testing is performed by Visit Healthcare at no cost. Your results will be returned to you after 5 p.m. the day after your test.

A full list of testing options on campus is available here.

If you are not feeling well or are exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19, no matter how slight, please do not attend class or any other activities, but rather get tested to know your status and to ensure that you are not spreading the virus to others. Contact your instructors to determine how to make up any missed work.

Those with COVID-19 symptoms should make an appointment for testing at the DeWeese Health Center, which will be open on Monday, Jan. 17, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Call 330-672-2322 for an appointment, which is required.

Please continue to follow the Flashes Safe Eight safety protocols. At this time of high transmission, it is particularly important to adhere to university protocols by wearing a face mask and wearing it properly. Make sure that your mask is always tightly fitted across your face and nose and completely covers your mouth to best prevent transmission of the virus.

If you need them, new masks, including KN95 masks, can be picked up on the Kent Campus at the same locations as at-home COVID-19 tests.

As COVID-19 is still with us, we need everyone to cooperate so that we can continue our in-person experience this semester, ensure that our campus remains safe and keep our university community healthy.

Sincerely,

Lisa Dannemiller, M.D.
Chief University Physician
Interim Director, University Health Services
