Dear Kent State University Student,
Our records indicate you have taken no action toward complying with the university’s COVID-19 vaccination requirement.
We urge you to become compliant to avoid potential disciplinary action this semester. Failure to comply with the university requirement to be vaccinated or secure an approved exemption and test regularly, will result in a registration hold being placed on your record.
If you have already gotten vaccinated, please make sure you have submitted proof of your vaccine here.
- COVID-19 vaccines are offered weekly at the DeWeese Health Center on the Kent Campus. Please schedule an appointment to get vaccinated.
- You also may request an exemption from vaccination. However, please understand that anyone who receives an exemption will be required to test weekly to ensure that they are not infected with COVID-19.
We remind you that your housing contract requires that you comply with all university policies. As of Dec. 20, 2021, our vaccination requirement is a university policy.
The university requires you to get tested weekly for COVID-19 until you become fully-vaccinated. If you receive an exemption, you will be required to test weekly as a requirement of that exemption.
For the week of Jan. 24, there are two ways you can comply with this testing requirement.
- You may stop by and get tested at one of the Visit Healthcare locations on the Kent Campus:
- Eastway Lounge: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Expanded morning hours are available on Thursdays beginning at 7:30 a.m.
- Cartwright Hall, second floor auditorium: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- MAC Center 3rd Floor Loge: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Expanded morning hours are available on Thursdays beginning at 7:30 a.m.
- Dunbar Hall Conference Room: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- DeWeese Health Center Annex (medical trailer located in the DeWeese parking lot): 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Warren Student Recreation & Wellness Center: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- You may perform an at-home test and submit your results here: My COVID-19 Dashboard - Kent State University. You may order free, at-home tests from the federal government here, or you may purchase test kits at a pharmacy, the cost of which may be reimbursed through your medical insurance carrier. Please note that the at-home COVID-19 testing kits distributed across the Kent Campus are not permitted to be used for this testing.
We remind you that failure to comply with this required testing may result in a referral to the Office of Student Conduct.
Please take steps to become compliant with the university’s vaccine requirement today.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation as we strive to keep everyone on our campus healthy as this pandemic continues.
Sincerely,
Lisa Dannemiller, M.D.
