What were some highlights of your first year? Were there offices or specific individuals that helped you during your transition?

My first semester at KSU has been great. I love the campus life and I am so happy that I chose to attend college here. I feel so blessed that I get to pursue my degree here because Kent has so many things to offer to their students. My transition to Kent State was influenced by a few people. The first person being my brother, who is also a student here at KSU. I was familiar with the campus and the things that it had to offer because of the information and advice that my brother gave me before coming to college. This made me feel better about my transition to Kent. Second, my RA of my residence hall made me feel more comfortable and welcomed here on campus from the first day that I began at Kent State. She encouraged me to get involved on campus, so I enrolled in the PLTC course. I wanted to get more involved and use my leadership abilities on campus. I am so glad that I made the decision to enroll in the PLTC course because I have met some amazing people whom I can now call my friends and people I may eventually be taking on leadership roles with in the future. This PLTC course has also allowed me to now be a TKS ambassador to help welcome transfer students to KSU.
