What were some highlights of your first year? Were there offices or specific individuals that helped you during your transition?

My first year as a student here at Kent State really made me want to get involved on campus. My first semester I was not as involved as I wanted to be. I was an Exploratory Student, and I was worried about what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. Being involved in the EXCEL Living Learning Community, and University College really helped me find that passion I had for helping others. My advisors really helped me find what I wanted to do, and they were there with me all the way up until I declared my major in Entrepreneurship. To this day I am still very close with the advisors and faculty in the University College. My highlights for my first year as a student here at Kent include: going to EXCEL events where I was able to make connections with faculty and my peers, taking the Peer Leader Training Course, going to dinner with my friends off campus (Olive Garden was the place we would always go), and being selected to be an Resident Assistant for the 2018-2019 Academic year!
