What were some highlights of your first year? Were there offices or specific individuals that helped you during your transition?
The highlights of my first year include staying on top of my school work, joining the American Medical Student Association club on campus, meeting new friends, and going to social events. The College of Arts and Science and the Honors College helped me find out what classes I needed to take and how I should prepare for them. Staff members such as Dr. Sujee (Chemistry), Dr. Zaldivar (Spanish), and Professor Danckaert-Skovira (English) also were a big help in guiding me through my first semester of classes and being patient with me when I needed help. Finally, the students and staff at Johnson Hall helped me transition into college by creating a positive and accepting atmosphere and by holding multiple social events that allowed me to meet new people.
