What were some highlights of your first year? Were there offices or specific individuals that helped you during your transition?
My first year I had an amazing time making new friends and adapting to a new environment. However, because I was an out of state student, I didn't really know anyone and had to get used to being on my own. I decided to join Kupita/Transiciones through the Student Multicultural Center to help me gain new relationships. I also got involved in hall council which allowed me to become a better leader. While working for hall council I was voted to become the Director of Student Relations. Working with Kent Interhall Council helped me be a strong person and taught me so much about myself. I also got to learn a lot about myself with working with the Student Success Programs office when I became a Flashguide last year. Being involved my first year helped me adapt to a new environment and allowed me to grow and evolve as a student leader.
