What were some highlights of your first year? Were there offices or specific individuals that helped you during your transition?
During my first year at Kent State, I was involved in the Global Village Living Learning Community. This launched me into the group of friends I have today. Being in a Living Learning Community, I was surrounded by people that had similar interests as me. We all love learning about different cultures, languages, and traveling to new places. During my second semester, I became an executive member of the Global Village, where I was able to have a leadership role in planning and carrying out events for international and American students. I have also been planning my study abroad for next year to South Korea. The Office of Global Education has really helped me understand the process of applying for study abroad programs and scholarships.
