EHHS Diversity Statement for Syllabi

The College of EHHS is committed to equitable practices moving toward a more socially just society and engaging in complex conversations to support inclusion in learning environments and throughout the greater KSU community. We respect the history, culture, values, dignity and integrity of individuals with various dimensions of identity, such as race, ethnicity, (dis)ability, age, sex, sexual identity, gender identity and expression, religious beliefs/backgrounds, socioeconomic status, and how these identities intersect, promoting antiracism practices and prohibiting discrimination. To nurture people, culture and belonging within our college, we practice cultural sensitivity and responsiveness to empower diverse groups of people, and to dismantle systemic injustices and remove oppressive barriers and ceilings. To maximize the individual and collective contributions among students, staff and faculty, we commit to cultivating an inclusive environment to facilitate critical thinking, the inclusion of multiple perspectives and intentionality through supportive learning communities.

We call on you as a student within the College of EHHS to embrace diversity in how you approach your learning experiences and how you contribute as an important participant in our learning communities. This can be done by critically examining your worldview with an antiracist lens and how it may impact your learning in this course.

If this is not your experience in this class, it is important to us to provide you some resources. Here are some steps you can take:
