Graduate Student Affinity Groups

Affinity Groups are groups of students brought together by a common interest, purpose or identity.

The Division of Graduate Studies sponsors affinity groups for graduate students who are parents and for first generation graduate students. Our Graduate Student Parent Affinity Group helps individuals who are both graduate students as well as parents to build a community together, share experiences and learn about available services and resources.

Additionally, The Division of Graduate Studies sponsors the First Generation Graduate Student Affinity Group to help graduate students who are first generation build a community with one another, share experiences and learn about available services and resources that could be coordinated to support these students.

If you are interested in joining either of these affinity groups or have suggestions for an affinity group you would like to see developed, please contact Kyle Reynolds at
