June Focus – Welcome to Summer!

Ample sunshine, longer days and warmer temperatures means more opportunities to get outside and get involved! Summer weather and activities also bring along new considerations for our well-being. It’s important to keep health and safety a top priority while having fun in the sun. 1, 2

Have fun in the sun with outdoor Employee Wellness events this month, including a faculty/staff summer field day, two lunchtime SPIN eBike/eScooter rides, and a walk & talk focused on the flowers in bloom on campus. In addition, be sure to join us for Mindful Monday on June 6, a webinar on credit scores on June 15, and a webinar about preventing chronic conditions on June 21.

FACULTY/STAFF SUMMER FIELD DAY

 Join Employee Wellness and Recreational & Wellness Services on Thursday, June 23 for a day of fun! The Faculty/Staff Summer Field Day event will take place at the outdoor pavilion and fields near Stewart Hall and will feature classic field day activities and employee favorites as well as some new activities (pickle ball, anyone?!). Impact Solutions Scavenger Hunt

Managing your work, personal, and family needs can sometimes feel overwhelming. That's why Kent State provides the Employee Assistance and Work/Life program through Impact Solutions, which offers mental health support and other services for all Kent State employees, as well as their spouse/partner, household members, dependents in and away from home, and parents/parents-in-law, free of charge. Did you know that you can earn Tier 2 points for completing an online scavenger hunt to learn more about Impact and their services?

Kent State Farmers’ Market

Kent State University has partnered with Haymaker Farmers' Market bring an on-campus farmers' market experience. The market offers over 20 vendors offering locally sourced fresh produce, crafts, and more to the Kent State community. Stop by the Student Green on Tuesday, Oct. 25, from 4-7 p.m. to meet vendors, shop, and enjoy! The markets are open to all employees, students, and community members.
