Welcome to the Division of People, Culture and Belonging. We share with you our motivation, our passion, and our drive to reach new heights in diversity and inclusive excellence at Kent State University.

In September 2023, the divisions of Human Resources and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) merged to create the new Division of People, Culture and Belonging. Under the leadership of Vice President Amoaba Gooden, this division will enhance Kent State’s focus on the well-being of people and organizational culture while elevating the work of both units. The Division of People, Culture and Belonging will strengthen efforts geared toward Kent State’s institutional mission and vision and advance the university’s culture of care, kindness and respect.

Share Your Ideas

Over the next several months, Vice President Gooden and her team will work with university divisions and a process team made up of Kent State University community members to design and refine the Division of People, Culture and Belonging. We want to hear from you! Please share your ideas on unique opportunities you think Kent State should consider with the alignment of the divisions of Human Resources and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
