Neurocognitive Research Program for the Advancement of the Humanities - NRPAH

The unique mission of NRPAH is to employ the most advanced scientific research methods and findings in order to identify and maximize the personally and socially crucial neurocognitive capabilities that only the humanities are capable of fostering.  The ultimate purpose of this research is to help people live richer, more productive and responsible lives, which it will do in two ways.  First, and most directly, it will enable the development of more effective, evidence-based educational practices and outreach programs for enhancing neurocognitive capabilities that previous research has identified as crucial for personal fulfillment, professional success, responsible global citizenship, and social justice.  And second, it will increase public support for the humanities, thus further increasing their beneficial impact.
