The final examination period for day and evening classes is Monday, December 08, 2025, through Sunday, December 14, 2025. All classes are expected to have some instructional or evaluative activity during the final examination time. Unless otherwise announced, examinations are held in the room where the lecture section of the class regularly meets.

PLEASE NOTE: Half Semester Courses/ Open Learning / Seven Week Courses:

• Final examinations will be held on the last scheduled class meeting date. 

Courses meeting One-Day-a-Week for the Full Semester:

• Final examinations will be held Exam Week during the course’s regularly scheduled day and time.

Full-term courses meeting Twice-a-week:

• The final examination date is determined using the Final Exam Table 

Exam Conflicts

If there is a scheduled final examination conflict, you must contact the instructor immediately. Instructors are expected to make suitable arrangements for students with scheduled final examination conflicts. Students who have more than three final examinations on the same day should petition the assistant dean as early as possible for an adjustment in their final examination schedule. Kent State University reserves the right to make adjustments to the Final Exam Schedule.

Kent State University at East Liverpool and Kent State University at Salem reserves the right to make adjustments in the Final Exam Schedule.

1. ALL CLASSES TAUGHT IN ANY MODE ARE EXPECTED TO HAVE SOME FORM OF INSTRUCTIONAL OR EVALUATIVE ACTIVITY DURING THE FINAL EXAMINATION PERIOD. For face-to-face or synchronously delivered remote courses, all final exams must be held during the appropriate time block shown in the table below. Each final exam time block is scheduled for two hours.
2. The time block for your face-to-face or synchronously delivered remote course final examination is determined by your regular class start time and the first class meeting of the week. If your course has several elements (e.g. lecture, lab) the first lecture meeting is considered the first class meeting of the week.
   1. Classes that do not meet the full term: Finals are held during the last scheduled class meeting for these courses.
   2. Classes that meet face-to-face or synchronously remotely one day per week: Finals are held during final exam week at the regularly scheduled meeting day and time.
3. If a student has a potential schedule conflict, instructors are expected to make suitable arrangements for those students.
4. Any student who has four or more exams scheduled on one day may re-schedule one exam, with the instructor’s permission.
5. NO RESCHEDULING OF EXAMS WILL BE PERMITTED except by special arrangement between instructor and Vice Dean. If the request is approved, your face-to-face or synchronously delivered remote course final exam must also be given at the time shown in the exam table for students who prefer to take it then.

Full-term courses meeting Twice-a-week:

• The final examination date and time is determined by the first class meeting of the week using the Final Exam Table. If a course consists of several elements (lecture, recitation, lab, clinical, etc.) the first lecture meeting is considered the first class.

STUDENT NOTICE: Make-up exams and/or conflicts are to be arranged between the student and instructor. Students should contact their instructor as soon as it is known they will be unable to take the exam at the scheduled time. All changes to the final exam schedule need to be approved by the Stark Campus Academic Affairs Office. Any student who has more than three exams scheduled on the same day may submit a petition to the Academic Vice Dean for an adjustment in their final exam schedule. 

LAB EXAMS: Science lab exams should be administered prior to final exam week. 

HALF SEMESTER CLASSES: Final exams should be administered during the last regularly scheduled class period.

All classes are expected to have some instructional or evaluative activity during the final examination time.

Half-Semester Courses

Final exams for half-semester courses will be held during the final class meeting time.

Courses Meeting One Day a Week

Final exams for classes meeting one day a week will be held during the final exam period at the regularly scheduled day and time.

Hybrid Courses

Unless otherwise required by your department, final exams for hybrid courses may be given online or in person at the discretion of the faculty member teaching the course. However, if an in-person final examination is scheduled, the time and date of the final examination will be determined by the first class meeting of the week and by using the Final Exam Table below.

All Other Courses (Use the table below)

The time and date of final examinations for all other classes are determined by the first class meeting of the week and by using the Final Exam Table below.
