TELL US ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE AS A STUDENT AT KENT STATE!

I am a psychology student with a minor in society, health, and medicine. I have had quite a ride here, but in the end it turned out to be the best decision for me.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE KENT STATE?

I chose Kent State because I was confident they could help me prepare and realize my dream of becoming a pediatric psychologist. Also, it was close to home, so it allowed me to be in my newborn niece's life while establishing my own independence and building my own life.

WHEN DID KENT STATE START TO FEEL LIKE HOME?

Kupita/Tansiciones (K/T) changed my whole life. It made me feel so welcome in a place I had never been before. I'm not going to lie, coming here, I did face some racism that I never had to deal with before. But Kent State provided a lot of support, especially with K/T, where they assign you a mentor to stay with you for three years. They have been amazing.

WHAT'S A COOL LEARNING EXPERIENCE YOU'VE HAD?

Speaking in front of Congress and K/T!

WHO HAS MADE YOUR COLLEGE EXPERIENCE SPECIAL?

Dr. Angela Neal-Barnett has mentioned my name in every room.

WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE MEMORY?

It was my first homecoming with my friends. It was everything I could hope for and more.

WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS, POST-GRADUATION?

I want to be a pediatric psychologist. I had the chance to speak before Congress, conduct research and work at the Cleveland Clinic.

WHY SHOULD OTHER STUDENTS CHOOSE KENT STATE?

Kent State guaranteed me that I would get where I need to go.
