Belonging 101 (90 min)
Wondering where to start your learning journey on understanding belonging? This introductory session will allow participants to learn basic language, concepts, and explore why developing a sense of belonging is important.
Belonging 201
How can we create environments where people feel a sense of belonging? During this session, participants will identify relevant practices and strategies needed to cultivate belonging.
Creating a Welcoming Community for Flashes 101 (Flashes 101 Session – Fall 2025)
What does a Welcoming Community look like and how can we create one? Students will explore these questions and learn some strategies on how they can contribute to making classrooms and campus a welcoming community.
Culture of Care 101
Have you noticed the conversation shift towards a culture of care? This session will examine why. Participants will explore the concepts of culture, care, and understand individual and institutional detours to achieving a culture of care.
Culture of Care 201
What does a culture of care look like and how can we create one? Participants will explore these questions, learn some basics skills, and strategize on how they can contribute to sustaining a culture of care.
Discovering Our Values (2hrs)
What are your values? Where do they come from? And how do you live them at work? Join this session to reflect on these questions and more! Come ready to engage with yourself and others.
Hiring Staff with Care
How can we make the staff hiring process more intentional and people-focused? Participants will examine the application review and interview phases, become aware of some common barriers, and learn about what practices they can incorporate.
Listening Project
The Listening Project aims to foster stronger working relationships among colleagues through intentional dialogue across differences. The program is organized by pairing participants based on factors such as workplace differences. Trained coaches foster dialogue between partners in cluster sessions on topics that range from getting to know one another to views on their communities. The goal of the program includes building relationships among individuals that normally may not develop a relationship, increase understanding, and improve the climate and individual success at KSU through building trust and credibility.
The program includes four facilitated group sessions, complemented by encouraged 1:1 partner interaction between sessions to reinforce connections and support ongoing dialogue.
Reading, Learning, Leading (90 min)
What is a leader? And do you consider yourself one? During this session, we’ll have an opportunity to critically reflect on these questions and more using our own experiences, poetry, and picture books. Come ready to get creative, engage with others, and explore how your leadership can make our community better!
