Lisa R. O'Connell

Lisa joined Kent State University in July of 2012 and currently serves as executive director of university ceremonies & events for the Office of University Events & Protocol. In her role, she leads the planning of major university events and special programs. Lisa represents the University Events and Protocol office as a member of many university committees. She earned a Certificate in hospitality and tourism management from Florida Atlantic University, a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toledo, and a Master of Science degree in hospitality and tourism management from Kent State. Lisa is the current President of the Akron Children's Hospital Emerging Leaders Board, the previous Assistant Regional Director for the U.S. Northcentral Region of the North American Association of Commencement Officers, and is a graduate of the Leadership Akron Community Leadership Institute, Kent State University's Institute for Excellence leadership training program and the Protocol School of Washington.
