    Biography

    Daniel E. Palmer is an Associate Professor of Philosophy at Kent State University. He received his B.A. (magna cum laude) in Philosophy from Bowling Green State University (1991), his M.A. in Philosophy from Villanova University (1994) and his Ph.D. in Philosophy from Purdue University (2000). Prior to joining Kent State University, he spent a year as a post-doctoral fellow at Central Michigan University’s Center for Applied, Professional, and Practical Ethics.

    Dr. Palmer’s primary research interests include ethical theory, business and professional ethics, and health care ethics. His published work has appeared in journals such as Business Ethics Quarterly, Journal of Business Ethics, Ratio, British Journal of Aesthetics, and The Journal of Value Inquiry.  His books include:

    1. Handbook of Research on Business Ethics and Corporate Responsibilities (edited volume, IGI Global, 2015).
    2. Managing for Ethical-Organizational Integrity: Principles and Processes for Promoting Good, Right, and Virtuous Conduct (monograph, with Abe Zakhem, Business Experts Press, 2012).
    3. Ethical Issues in E-Business: Models and Frameworks (edited volume, IGI Global, 2010).
    4. Stakeholder Theory: Essential Readings in Ethical Leadership and Management (with Mary Lyn Stoll and Abe Zakhem, Prometheus Books, 2008).

    In addition to his academic work, Dr. Palmer has served as a member of the Institutional Review Board for Mercy Health — St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital and is currently the chair of the board of the Eastern Ohio Area Health Education Center (EOAHEC).
